Student Well-Being

A space to be heard, understood and supported.

At North Point, we recognise the connection between emotional well-being and academic growth. Our Mental Health & Remediation Centre provides a welcoming space for students from Nursery to Class 12, their families and teachers to seek guidance, build skills and access support.

The Resource Room

A welcoming space for children and families.

01

A Calm Environment

The Resource Room is designed as a gentle, welcoming space where children, parents and teachers can pause and seek support. Its soft, light-coloured walls create a calmer environment for children, including those who are sensitive to light and attend remediation sessions. A view of the green garden and playground, natural light and fresh air contribute to the calm environment.

02

Privacy and Confidentiality

The centre emphasises privacy and confidentiality, helping children, parents and staff feel comfortable speaking openly and without fear of judgement.

03

Support for Parents

Practical, easy-to-read parenting guidance in the room helps families reflect on everyday parenting challenges. The centre recognises that families can need support at different points and aims to help parents feel better equipped and less alone.

Counselling Services

Support that begins with listening.

01

Individual Counselling

The centre offers one-to-one counselling sessions for students and parents to support positive mental health and emotional resilience.

02

Developmentally Appropriate Behaviour Support

For younger children who may not yet benefit from formal therapeutic sessions, counsellors provide age-appropriate behaviour-management support.

03

Group Support Sessions

The centre also conducts group sessions addressing concerns such as bullying, academic stress, reduced interest in studies and interpersonal difficulties.

04

A Welcoming Door

Anyone associated with North Point is welcome to visit the Resource Room during school hours. The centre's guiding belief is that no concern is too small to discuss.

Remediation Programme

Building the foundations for learning.

A special educator conducts skill-based remediation sessions designed to strengthen key learning skills. Through structured, individualised support, students can work on the foundations that help them approach learning with greater ease and confidence.

Mental Health in the Classroom

Well-being is part of learning.

Every class participates in a weekly mental health session led by the centre's counsellors. Through role-play and guided discussion, students explore relevant topics and develop self-awareness, emotional expression and healthy interpersonal skills.

01

Reflect

Build self-awareness.

02

Express

Understand and communicate emotions.

03

Connect

Develop healthy interpersonal skills.

Supporting Teachers and Parents

A stronger support system around every child.

01

For Teachers

The centre has conducted awareness and professional-development sessions on generational differences, understanding Gen Z and Gen Alpha, respectful classroom interactions and responding to children's needs. It has also organised interactive activities supporting teachers' mental well-being.

02

For Parents

Sessions have addressed the challenges of bridging generational gaps and strengthening understanding between parents and teenagers or adolescents.

Awareness and Early Support

Making space for difficult conversations.

  • The centre has conducted an awareness session on suicide and prevention for Grade 10 and ISC students on 10 September.
  • The centre has worked with students and parents on concerns including bullying, low confidence, interpersonal relationships, family bonds, anxiety, sadness and reduced interest in studies.
  • Group sessions have also addressed bullying, academic stress, lack of interest in studies and interpersonal difficulties.

Our Commitment

Every child deserves to feel understood.

The Resource Room is committed to providing a safe, confidential and supportive environment where every child is understood, encouraged and empowered to reach their potential.

Come, let's talk. We are here to listen.
